Job summary

PACCAR, including Kenworth Truck Company, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for product development focused on powertrains and electrified drive systems. You will develop Creo-based designs, define system requirements, and drive integration within class 6-8 trucks across multiple teams.

The role emphasizes collaboration with software teams, supplier leadership, and a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent engineering degree required.
• 1-3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with powertrain, cooling, and transmission systems preferred.
• CAD / 3D Modeling experience; Creo preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Creo software to develop design concepts and package components within the vehicle environment.
• Define requirements for powertrain and cooling systems for medium and heavy trucks.
• Define integration requirements and lead implementation into medium and heavy duty trucks.
• Collaborate with software teams to define and validate embedded system controls.
• Lead and track supplier activities, schedules, and milestones.
• Communicate design status to team and facilitate tech transfer between PACCAR divisions.
