Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support a leading power generation construction company, focusing on large-scale energy infrastructure projects. You will design, coordinate, and execute mechanical systems across the project lifecycle, collaborating with engineering, construction, and project management teams.

The role involves piping, HVAC, pumps, boilers, turbines, and balance-of-plant equipment, with emphasis on safety standards and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 4+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably supporting industrial, energy, power generation, or heavy infrastructure projects.
• Ability to coordinate between engineering and construction teams.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review mechanical designs, specifications, calculations, and engineering drawings for power generation construction projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, contractors, and external engineering firms to ensure successful project execution.
• Support mechanical system design for equipment including pumps, piping systems, boilers, turbines, heat exchangers, HVAC systems, and auxiliary plant equipment.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and technical evaluations to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Assist with equipment selection, procurement support, and technical bid evaluations.
• Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, and vendor documentation during project execution.
• Perform site visits and field inspections to validate design implementation and support construction activities.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable safety standards, building codes, industry regulations, and client specifications.
• Provide technical solutions for design challenges encountered during construction and commissioning phases.
• Maintain project documentation and communicate progress, risks, and technical updates to stakeholders.
