Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I in Marietta, OH to design and develop power protection equipment, including switchboards, PDUs, and power panels. You will work with engineering and manufacturing to create practical, high-quality designs and support prototype builds.

You will independently manage smaller projects, participate in design reviews, and ensure manufacturability and lifecycle support through the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 2+ years of relevant professional experience in mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of power protection equipment and data center market is a plus.
• Experience applying electrical safety standards (UL/IEC) to power equipment.
• 2+ years of SolidWorks CAD experience, including thermal and structural evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical designs and engineering documentation for new and modified power equipment.
• Develop designs that meet customer requirements, project objectives, quality expectations, and manufacturing needs.
• Participate in design reviews and verification activities; evaluate feedback and update designs as needed.
• Model and release mechanical prototypes and work with fabrication teams during prototype builds.
• Evaluate prototype results and lead design improvements following fabrication and testing.
• Independently coordinate smaller engineering projects and organize the work required to meet project goals.
• Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Service, and other functions to ensure new and updated products are practical throughout their lifecycle.
• Support product customization, lifecycle management, ECN activities, and product optimization.
• Contribute to technical documentation and other engineering deliverables.
• Apply design-for-manufacturing principles to improve manufacturability and product quality.
