Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to support next-generation STS and PDU products for mission-critical power and data center applications.

You will use 3D CAD and PLM tools to develop innovative, manufacturable designs while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and testing teams. This onsite role in Delaware, Ohio offers lifecycle involvement and global impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years in mechanical design
• Associate degree with 7+ years in mechanical design
• Design and development of commercial, industrial, electrical, electromechanical, or manufactured products
• New product development from concept through production release
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software and mechanical design best practices
• Creation of engineering drawings and bills of material
• PLM, revision control, or engineering change management systems
• Interpretation of technical specifications, drawings, and engineering documentation
• Collaboration within cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities for new products and product improvements
• Develop 3D models, engineering drawings, and bills of material
• Translate product requirements into practical and manufacturable designs
• Manage engineering releases and product documentation within PLM systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve design and manufacturing challenges
• Support prototype builds, design verification, and product testing activities
• Review simulation results and apply findings to optimize product performance
• Create customer-facing technical drawings and documentation
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders throughout development projects
• Support manufacturing and production teams during new product introductions
• Identify opportunities for product, process, and documentation improvements
