Job summary

Actalent in Maryville, TN is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to plan and design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, leading fabrication and testing activities. You will design engines, controls, robots, and machines, coordinate teams, ensure conformity to specs, and evaluate field installations.

Must have SolidWorks experience and a Mechanical Engineering degree, plus ability to obtain TS clearance.

Qualifications

3+ years SolidWorks design experience.
Mechanical Engineering degree.
Ability to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

Research and analyze data to determine feasibility of design or application.
Design products or systems including instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, and ME systems.
Plan and direct other engineers in fabrication and development of testing methods.
Direct and coordinate fabrication and installation activities to ensure conformance to design and customer specs.
Coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair activities for optimum utilization of machines.
Design products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and software.
Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
Maintain availability for work, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
