Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop innovative mechanical and electro-mechanical products from concept through production. You will model in 3D, create manufacturing-ready drawings in SolidWorks, and ensure safety, ergonomic and manufacturability standards are met.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in engineering design environment.
• 2+ years designing consumer or industrial products, including NPI.
• Proficient in CAD software with SolidWorks experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks PDM systems.
• Knowledge of engineering practices, standards, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on design and development of new products and technologies.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies and drawings in SolidWorks.
• Ensure designs meet structural, safety, and ergonomic requirements.
• Review design docs for feasibility, manufacturability and accuracy.
• Coordinate prototype builds with suppliers and communicate design intent.
• Collaborate with CNC, sheet metal bending and assembly teams for DFMA.
• Provide hands-on production support and prototyping when needed.
• Manage engineering data workflows in SolidWorks PDM.
• Support cross-functional teams to meet schedules and milestones.
