Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Allentown, PA team. You will drive New Product Development from concept through detailed design and drawings using Autodesk Inventor and SolidEdge.

The role involves knowledge of machining, sheet metal components, GD&T, and BOM management, with exposure to PDM/PLM tools. You’ll handle large assemblies, coordinate with offshore teams, attend client meetings, and contribute to structural documentation and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in New Product Development from concept to detail design.
• Knowledge of machining and sheet metal components.
• Experience handling large assemblies and GD&T.
• Familiarity with PDM/PLM and BOM management.
• Client meeting involvement and proposal-ready communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept creation, detail design, modeling and drawings using CAD tools.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams on processes and tooling.
• Coordinate with offshore teams to convey tasks and requirements.
• Prepare procedures and operation method sheets for assemblies.
• Attend client meetings and communicate design progress.
