Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Product Design & Development to transform ideas into real-world membrane technologies.

The role blends hands-on lab work with design using SolidWorks, collaborating across Product Development, Quality, Procurement and Operations to meet product requirements and manufacturing constraints. The successful candidate will contribute to safety-compliant testing, documentation, and development of new gas separation solutions,

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 1+ years of experience in product design, equipment design, or mechanical engineering using SolidWorks.
• Experience creating CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Experience working in a laboratory or testing environment, including test setup, data collection, and interpretation of results.
• SolidWorks certifications and Design for Six Sigma experience are strong assets.
• Understanding of manufacturing, machining, fabrication, or product development processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse cultures and organizational levels.
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically as required.

Responsabilidades

• Apply fundamental mechanical engineering principles to design innovative pressure containment vessels and related products.
• Understand machining and fabrication processes and incorporate manufacturability into designs.
• Utilize SolidWorks to create 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings from concept through commercialization.
• Maintain design documentation within SolidWorks PDM.
• Organize and maintain the mechanical testing laboratory and conduct tests to validate performance and integrity.
• Document, analyze, and communicate test results through established reporting methods.
• Design casting molds and components that integrate with existing manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Collaborate with plant engineering and manufacturing teams to support seamless implementation of new products.
• Develop test plans and coordinate prototype manufacturing activities.
• Participate in hands-on laboratory testing, data collection, and troubleshooting activities.
• Work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations to deliver practical and innovative solutions.
• Support a culture of safety by maintaining laboratory safety standards and best practices.
