Job summary

NorthAmCon, LLC in Chelsea, MI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop custom material handling equipment and systems, performing analyses to ensure safe, efficient operation.

This role collaborates closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Operations, and customers to translate requirements into engineered solutions, maintain BOMs, and drive projects from concept through production.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical engineering or equipment design experience.
• Experience designing industrial equipment, conveyors, or material handling systems.
• SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience required.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and develop custom solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom material handling equipment and mechanical systems.
• Create and review manufacturing drawings, 3D models, and documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations for loading, sizing, power transmission, and performance.
• Lead projects from concept through production and support manufacturing and operations.
• Mentor CAD designers and technicians as needed.
