Northrop Grumman Corp. in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Level 3 or 4 to support launcher hardware for Navy platforms. You will develop concepts, create solid models, and produce GD&T compliant drawings while balancing schedule, cost and technical requirements.

Onsite 4 days a week with US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Occasional travel up to 10% and opportunities to lead design development and collaborate with vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant work experience, or a Master’s with 3 years.
  • Experience in machine design and drawing generation, and ability to plan tasks and schedules.
  • Must be onsite 4 days a week and able to obtain a US Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop designs concept and generate solid models reflecting those concepts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
  • Conduct trade studies to evaluate design approaches and select best options.
  • Oversee generation of engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
  • Identify procurement needs and support fabrication.
  • Provide assembly checkout and test support.
  • Generate task plans and support proposal efforts.
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required.

The Marine Systems organization, part of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, is searching for Mechanical Design Engineers in support of rapid growth in the Launcher Hardware organization. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
