Job summary

Benchmark is seeking a design engineer in Santa Ana, CA to design and develop customer products, test fixtures and manufacturing tooling. You will perform basic to high complexity design assignments and create mechanical drawings that support manufacturing and testing needs.

Responsibilities span from drafting and tolerance analysis to interacting with vendors, supporting hardware, software and PCB design teams, and contributing to continuous improvement and DFX reviews.

Qualifications

• 4 year Engineering or technical degree required or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing or related field preferred.
• Strong CAD skills and ability to create and revise engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provides mechanical design and documentation for customer products and tooling.
• Develops basic to intermediate drawings of components and assemblies.
• Performs tolerance analysis and material selection.
• Interacts with vendors to ensure fabrication of mechanical components.
• Supports DFX reviews and documentation.
