Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer I to contribute to the design and development of mechanical components for space applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability, and you’ll support integration within larger assemblies.

This onsite role is based in Glendale, AZ. Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of experience, a technical bachelor’s degree, and a basic grasp of mechanical design principles.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in mechanical design and development.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies.
• Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design and familiarity with design tools.
• Understanding of mechanical analysis and simulation concepts is a plus.

Mechanical Design Engineer I

As a Mechanical Design Engineer I here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will contribute to the design and development of mechanical components and systems for space applications that meet stringent performance and quality standards. You will apply engineering principles to create innovative solutions that support product development and manufacturing processes. In this role, you will impact the successful delivery of mechanical design projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring design accuracy, and supporting the integration of mechanical systems within larger assemblies. You will report directly to our Sr Systems Engineering Manager and you’ll work 100% onsite at our Glendale, AZ location.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs and drawings using CAD software to meet project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Support prototype development and testing activities to validate mechanical designs.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in mechanical design and development
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
• Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies
• Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design and familiarity with design tools
• Understanding of mechanical analysis and simulation concepts is a plus

• Internship or co-op experience in mechanical design or related engineering roles
