Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer I to support projects involving mechanical products used in industrial, offshore, and defense applications. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 0–2 years of relevant experience, or at least 6 years of direct experience without a degree.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Detail-oriented and results-driven with a sense of urgency.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with engineers and team members.
• Basic knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD 2D CAD.
• Familiarity with FEA tools and analysis methods.
• Understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, or structural design.
• Programming or data analysis experience.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes, testing procedures, and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design, analysis, testing, and documentation for mechanical products and components.
• Review design reports, test plans, and material specifications.
• Develop knowledge of CAD, FEA, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
• Support Material Review Board activities and manage multiple project responsibilities.

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer I to support new and existing engineering projects involving mechanical products and components used in industrial, offshore, and defense applications. Working under direct supervision and alongside experienced engineers, this person will assist with mechanical design, analysis, testing, and technical documentation. Responsibilities include reviewing design reports, test plans, material specifications, drawings, and other technical documents while developing knowledge of CAD, FEA, GD&T, structural design practices, manufacturing processes, and testing procedures. This individual will also support Material Review Board activities and manage multiple project responsibilities in a detail-focused engineering environment. Annual compensation ranges from $80,000-$83,000 depending on level of experience.

Skills and Requirements
