Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join Core Technology. You will contribute to the design and validation of high-temperature heating elements, storage media, and insulation layers at the heat battery core.

The role emphasizes thermomechanical design, integrated hardware with refractories, and robust design interfaces across subsystems. You’ll perform CFD, 1D heat/mass-flow analyses, FEA, and contribute to FMEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience with complex systems.
• Experience taking designs from concept through production qualification.
• Experience with high-temperature materials and interfaces.
• Proficiency in FEA and 1D thermal analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design and validation of components and assemblies for high-temp systems.
• Perform CFD and 1D heat- and mass-flow analyses to identify design-driving factors.
• Conduct FEA to evaluate mechanical and thermomechanical performance.
• Develop test methodologies to validate performance and reduce risk.
• Lead design reviews and collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain to improve manufacturability.
• Prepare technical documentation for suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Support production ramp-up and troubleshoot pilot line trials.
