Job summary

Cepeda Systems and Software Analysis in Huntsville, AL seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to support structural and mechanical design for NASA Marshall Space Flight Center projects. You will release engineering drawings and provide fabrication support for flight hardware, collaborating with multiple discipline teams and vendors.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 5+ years of experience or a MS with 3+ years, and proficiency in Creo/Pro-Engineer or Siemens NX.

Qualifications

  • ABET BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience or MS with 3+ years.
  • Proficiency in CREO/Pro-Engineer or Siemens NX 3-D modeling and 2-D drafting.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M GD&T and applying it to production drawings.
  • General knowledge of Statics and Dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Concept design of structures and mechanisms.
  • Create CAD models and fabrication drawings with GD&T.
  • Basic analysis of structures and mechanisms for feasibility evaluation.
  • Collaborate with Stress, Materials, Safety, Avionics, and other discipline teams.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with NASA engineers, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Support aggressive delivery schedules for design reviews and manufacturing plans.
