Job summary

Applied Engineering, Inc. in Cypress, TX is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive design initiatives and lead medium-scale mechanical projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery, produce engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation, and help optimize manufacturability and cost.

The role requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, 2–5 years experience, and proficiency with SolidWorks/AutoCAD, plus familiarity with ASME, NEMA, UL, and IEC

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2-5 years of experience preferred.
• Experience with sheet metal enclosures, structural assemblies, and thermal management.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of ASME, NEMA, UL, and IEC standards.

Responsibilities

• Drive mechanical design initiatives for Systems Solutions.
• Lead medium-scale mechanical designs in a fast-growing segment.
• Develop innovative mechanical designs and provide technical guidance.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery.
• Oversee drawings, analyses, test plans, and documentation.
• Create BOMs and upload to ERP system.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to resolve build challenges.
• Prepare quote packages and propose design improvements.
