Job summary

Dunaway is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design extrusion presses and material handling equipment using 3D modeling tools. You will reverse‑engineer to enable repairs and upgrades, and collaborate with field services to diagnose issues in the field.

You will plan installations of industrial systems, support estimating with scope details, and travel 10%–15% for site visits and troubleshooting, leveraging your hydraulics and FEA knowledge.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing industrial machinery and equipment.
• Strong ability to schedule work through the shop to keep machinists and assemblers busy.
• Hands-on hydraulics knowledge for design and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of FEA with industry-standard tools.
• Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and components.
• Background in aluminum extrusion design and troubleshooting is preferred.
• SolidWorks plus CAM software experience is desirable.
• 3+ years designing aluminum extrusion presses and related handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design extrusion presses and related handling equipment using 3D modeling tools.
• Reverse-engineer existing machines for repairs, upgrades and improvements.
• Partner with field services to diagnose and resolve equipment issues in the field.
• Plan and coordinate movement and installation of industrial systems.
• Support estimating by detailing scope and assisting with quotes.
• Travel 10%–15% for site visits, installs, and troubleshooting.
