Job summary

US364 Valvtechnologies, LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Design Engineer to support sales, engineering, and manufacturing by creating safe, technically accurate, and cost-effective designs for complex valve systems.

You will develop drawings, perform calculations, manage BOMs, ensure QA/ISO/ASME/API compliance, and mentor junior designers while maintaining design documentation and drawing databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience, with advanced manufacturing experience/knowledge.
• 3+ years’ experience in valve design.

Responsibilities

• Support sales, manufacturing, and engineering efforts by creating all necessary drawings, designs, and schematics.
• Perform necessary calculations and material selection to ensure QA, sales, and customer requirements.
• Check designs and verify all calculations to minimize errors, review junior designers/engineers work for quality.
• Perform and/or evaluate simulations, calculations to test and validate designs and documentation as required.
• Manage drawing database – new drawings, revisions, distribution, and archiving.
• Create design files, Bill of Materials, calculations/calculators as required.
• Maintain and update ISO, ASME, API, and QA requirements.
• Continual expansion of knowledge pertaining to engineering and design quality standards.
• Perform final engineering and QA checks prior to shipment to ensure compliance with requirements.
• May perform other related duties as needed.

Under moderate to broad direction, can execute designs to assist in developing ideas necessary for sales, engineering, and manufacturing within the company. This includes producing safe, technically accurate, and cost-effective designs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support sales, manufacturing, and engineering efforts by creating all necessary drawings, designs, and schematics


• Perform necessary calculations and material selection to ensure compliance with quality assurance (QA), sales, and customer requirements


• Check designs and verify all calculations to minimize errors, along with reviewing junior designers/engineers work to ensure high quality


• Perform and/or evaluate simulations, calculations, etc. to test and validate designs, documentation as required


• Manage drawing database – new drawings, revisions, distribution, and archiving
