Job summary

EAGLESTONE, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Naperville, IL to drive the conception, design, and delivery of custom conveyor systems. You will work with shop, sales and engineering teams to take products from concept to installation.

The role emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and mentoring, with onsite work Monday–Friday and some travel. Expect responsibilities from concept design to shop-floor support and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of dedicated mechanical design experience.
• Experience with sanitary design principles (USDA/FDA compliance for food industries).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks or Inventor).
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Design custom conveyor solutions per customer specs and release documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, project managers, sales engineering and shop floor leads.
• Perform mechanical calculations for drive sizing, motor/gearbox selection, belt tensioning, shaft loading and structural design.
• Create, check and revise 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs for shop floor use.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting to fabrication, welding, and assembly teams.
