Job summary

GableTek in Holland, MI is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design custom automation equipment and robotic systems, taking concepts to detailed designs and manufacturing release.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and 3+ years of automation design experience, with Creo Parametric (preferred) and SolidWorks; Windchill PLM experience is a plus; strong GD&T and DFMA skills; capable of collaborating with manufacturing and controls teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of mechanical design experience in custom automation.
• CreoParametric preferred; SolidWorks considered.
• Experience with Windchill PDM/PLM or similar systems.
• Strong GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom automated assembly equipment and systems.
• Develop concepts, layouts, assemblies, and components from requirements to release.
• Create detailed drawings, BOMs, specs, and documentation.
• Perform calculations, tolerances, and mechanical evaluations.
• Select and integrate mechanical, pneumatic, and motion components.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, controls, and project teams.
