Job summary

Actalent in East Moline, IL is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to perform 3D CAD mechanical design using Creo, taking projects from initial concept through final delivery. You will design tooling, die fixtures, and weldments for a variety of customer applications while managing timelines and resources.

This onsite role offers leadership opportunities, collaboration with customers, and mentorship to engineers to grow into broader responsibilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
4+ years of mechanical design experience preferred.
Proficiency with Creo for 3D CAD modeling and design.
Experience designing tooling and fixturing for multiple clients or applications.
Ability to manage engineering projects end-to-end, including timelines and customer communication.

Responsibilities

Create detailed 3D CAD models and mechanical designs in Creo for customer applications.
Manage engineering projects from concept through delivery, including planning timelines and coordinating resources.
Design tooling and die fixtures meeting performance, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
Develop weldment designs that are structurally sound and cost-effective.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to influence engineering standards and workflows.
Translate customer requirements into manufacturable designs and documentation.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
