Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in East Moline, IL for onsite 3D CAD design using Creo, from concept to final delivery. You will design tooling, die fixtures, and weldments for varied applications while managing timelines, resources and customer communication.

The role offers opportunities to mentor engineers and grow into broader leadership responsibilities. The position is a Contract to Hire, requires 8-hour workdays, and offers a clear path to leadership within a hands-on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• Strong mechanical design experience (4+ years) in professional setting.
• Proficiency with Creo for 3D CAD modeling and design.
• Hands-on experience in tooling and fixturing design.
• Ability to manage engineering projects end-to-end, including timelines and resources.
• Experience designing weldments with structural/fabrication considerations.
• Solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D CAD models and mechanical designs in Creo for customer applications.
• Manage projects from concept through delivery, including timelines and resources.
• Design tooling and die fixtures meeting performance, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
• Develop weldment designs aligned with customer specs and cost targets.
• Collaborate to influence engineering standards and workflows.
• Translate customer requirements into manufacturable designs and documentation.
• Provide mentorship to other engineers and contribute to team development.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
