Job summary

Celestica Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking an Engineer, Mechanical Design to work on designing and developing mechanical solutions for mix of customer and Celestica specifications.

The role involves independent design work, interaction with customers, and producing technical drawings for review and production. You will prepare calculations, create compliant designs, and incorporate feedback to improve existing machines, with occasional travel to support manufacturing and field activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to design and develop technical solutions without assistance in a limited number of technical fields supporting common segments/technologies.
• Attend and interact in technical customer meetings.
• Prepare calculations on the proposed solution before completing technical drawings.
• Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. E.g. Sketch and draw up designs using input from other engineers, requirements and input from design review (DFx) team
• Create designs in line with company procedure, regulations and client standards
• Submit drawings to management, engineering teams and customers for review.
• Use customer feedback and data to upgrade, improve or repair the company's existing machines
• Provide support during the manufacturing process
• Finalize designs and send prints to the production department
