Job summary

Global Connect Technologies is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE to support new product development. The role requires delivering high-quality designs, complex surface models, and production drawings within a PLM-controlled environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, create robust CAD models, validate fit and manufacturability, and ensure GD&T compliance throughout the design lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6 to 8 years of product design and development experience.
• Extensive experience using CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE in a PLM environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify 3D CAD models for new component and product development using CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Create and manage complex surface geometry using Generative Shape Design (GSD) techniques.
• Perform solid model creation, optimization, and design modifications based on engineering requirements.
• Integrate components into assemblies and validate fit, function, and manufacturability.
• Generate detailed production drawings, GD&T annotations, and engineering documentation.
• Support product development activities throughout the design lifecycle.
• Participate in design reviews and cross-functional engineering discussions.
• Ensure compliance with customer standards, design guidelines, and PLM processes.
• Provide general CAD support for ongoing design and development programs.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE Design Engineer to support new product development programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in complex surfacing, solid modelling, assembly integration, engineering change implementation, and production drawing development within a PLM-controlled product development environment. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality design solutions from concept through production release.

Required Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years of product design and development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Proven background in new product development programs.
• Experience creating high-quality production-ready CAD models and drawings.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, manufacturing processes, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work directly with customer engineering teams in an onsite environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Automotive, Powersports, Marine, Industrial Equipment, or Heavy Vehicle industries.
• Exposure to Class-A surfacing and complex geometry development.
• Familiarity with engineering change processes and release management.
• Experience supporting global engineering teams and customer-facing programs.
