Job summary

Actalent in North Reading, MA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Product Design Engineer to lead camera- and sensor-focused product development from concept through prototype. You will create cutting-edge mechanical designs that integrate cameras, sensors, and supporting hardware with emphasis on thermal management and robust electromechanical assemblies.

You will design, analyze, and test in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, quality, and manufacturability targets

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mid-career experience in mechanical product design, preferably with camera/sensor-based systems.
• Experience with camera-focused or sensor-focused product design.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D CAD modeling and drawings.
• Experience performing thermal simulations and analyses (e.g., Ansys).
• Strong sheet metal design experience, including forming, bending, and joining.
• Experience with weldment and welded assemblies for robust structures.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical products from concept through prototype with camera/sensor focus.
• Create detailed 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks including sheet metal parts and weldments.
• Integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components with cross-functional teams.
• Develop, document, and manage mechanical design requirements to meet performance targets.
• Perform thermal analyses and address thermal management challenges.
