Job summary

Petersen Inc. in Dallas, TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to perform engineering assignments with clear objectives and to prepare shop drawings for complex parts and assemblies.

The role requires collaboration with design engineers and interaction with customers to ensure design success. The candidate should have a 4-year Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years of experience, with SolidWorks and Ansys experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• SolidWorks experience preferred and Ansys experience desired.
• Strong drafting, GD&T, and blueprint reading skills.
• Experience with CAD systems and design analysis is required.

Responsibilities

• Create and evaluate project designs with the design engineer.
• Produce engineering drawings, layouts, and change orders; ensure clarity for shop personnel.
• Develop engineering calculations (structural sizing, rigging) and verify designs.
• Support design reviews with customers and resolve calculation comments.
• Follow company procedures for drawing control, file backup, and standards.
• Maintain design backup files and review others' drawings when assigned.
