Job summary

Crown Equipment Corporation in Greencastle, IN is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design and development of material handling products and systems.

You will work on concept design, layouts, prototypes, and production releases, travel occasionally, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and service teams. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and CAD/3D modeling skills are required; sponsorship is unavailable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Occasional travel (0–5%), reliable local transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise to the design and development of new and improved material handling products.
• Concept product design: present ideas and develop solutions with supervision approval.
• Layout design: create functional, safe, manufacturable part layouts and BOMs.
• Prototype monitoring: order parts, arrange testing, and review results.
• Assist in design release to production and cross-functional coordination.
• Lead projects with schedules, status reports, and cross-department support.
• Attend training and reviews of design guidelines; perform other duties as assigned.
