Job summary

Ballinger is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Philadelphia to analyze and design building infrastructure and HVAC systems. You will work with senior engineers, learn cooling, steam and energy modeling, and prepare drawings and specifications for project delivery.

The role emphasizes rigorous analysis, collaboration, and field surveys, with a path toward mentorship and growth within Ballinger's healthcare, academic, and corporate projects.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
• Working knowledge and proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• EIT preferred.
• Entry-level design engineer, Co-Op or Intern experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing and improving mechanical components, products and systems for clients.
• Preparing technical drawings and specifications for mechanical systems to meet codes and client requirements.
• Overseeing construction administration to ensure installation conforms to docs.
• Analyzing system options, costs, and design using energy models and analytical tools.
• Produce specification sections and Field/Inspections docs; draft reports.
• Travel for surveys and field/site visits during construction.
