Job summary

Ballinger is seeking an entry‑level design engineer in the United States to analyze and design building infrastructure and HVAC systems. You will work with experienced engineers to learn cooling, chilled water, steam, hot water, air handling, and automation fundamentals, while preparing drawings, performing field surveys, and modeling energy use.

Responsibilities include producing technical drawings and specifications, supervising construction administration, and analyzing options and costs

Qualifications

BS or BA degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or equivalent

Responsibilities

Analyze and design building infrastructure and HVAC systems as part of project teams
Collaborate with senior engineers to learn fundamentals of cooling, chilled water, steam, hot water, air handling and automation
Prepare mechanical drawings, perform field surveys, and model energy use
Design, implement and improve mechanical components and systems for clients
Research new technologies and their application to projects
Prepare technical drawings and specifications for mechanical systems
Oversee construction administration to ensure installation aligns with documentation
Analyze system options and costs using analytical tools and energy models
Produce specification sections and field inspection documents
Draft/model field site visit reports and interface with specs staff
Develop knowledge of Ballinger’s project types through project team engagement
Travel for surveys and field visits as required during construction
