Job summary

Retina Systems is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop portions of the inspection system and tooling. You will work on sub-systems involving part handling, lighting, optics, and precision mechanics, starting from functional requirements to specifications.

You will collaborate with project managers, vendors, and customers, building and testing prototypes, generating CAD drawings, and supporting system integration and testing.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent experience.
• 2–6 years of machine design experience preferred.
• SolidWorks or 3D CAD experience; SolidWorks preferred.
• CAM experience and ability to program/run a 3-axis mill is a plus.
• Experience with vibratory feeds systems desirable.
• Machine shop experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail components, systems, and complete machines to customer specifications.
• Assist sales with technical inquiries and quoting.
• Work with machinists and assembly technicians to bring designs to life.
• Interface with customers via phone, email, and occasional travel to customer sites.
• Communicate with vendors to specify and find commercially available components.
