Job summary

Maxonic is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for an on-site contract in Allentown, PA. The role focuses on developing electrical and system enclosures, vacuum components, gas delivery systems, and pneumatic assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.

You will create and revise CAD drawings, support prototypes, transfer designs to manufacturing, and develop technical docs. Familiarity with Autodesk Vault, Tube & Pipe, Cable & Harness, Sheet Metal, Enovia PLM, and GD&T is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience using Autodesk Inventor to create, modify and maintain 3D models and drawings.
• Strong background in mechanical design, material selection, and component specification for cost, manufacturability, reliability.
• Experience with electrical and system enclosures, vacuum components, gas delivery systems, and pneumatic assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise detailed engineering drawings and CAD models.
• Develop and present design review documentation.
• Support prototype builds, including procurement of prototype components.
• Perform system integration, troubleshooting, and prototype testing.
• Transfer designs to manufacturing and support production release activities.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation, including assembly instructions, test procedures, installation guides, and service manuals.
• Familiarity with Enovia PLM, GD&T principles, and applicable ASTM standards.
• Demonstrate strong communication and cross-functional collaboration throughout projects.
