Position Overview
Strattec is seeking an experienced Product Designer with strong expertise in CREO CAD and automotive Key Fob/Digital Key Fob product design. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience designing and developing automotive access systems, working closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver high‑quality products from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive Key Fob/Digital Key Fob products using PTC Creo.
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
- Support product development from concept through prototype, validation, and production release.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and supplier teams to ensure design feasibility.
- Perform design reviews and incorporate engineering changes as needed.
- Ensure designs meet customer specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing requirements.
- Support DFM/DFA activities and resolve design‑related manufacturing issues.
- Maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, and revision control.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive product design.
- Expert‑level proficiency in PTC Creo CAD (Mandatory).
- Experience creating complex parts, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack‑up, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience working with PLM/PDM systems.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automotive access systems, passive entry, or smart key technologies.
- Knowledge of injection‑molded plastic components and electronic packaging.
- Familiarity with automotive product development processes and APQP.
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier‑1 automotive suppliers.
