Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a product development team, contributing from concept through production release. The role emphasizes CAD ownership, analysis, documentation management, and collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and operations.

A Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and SolidWorks expertise are required. The position is a contract role based out of Old Saybrook, CT, with pay in the $35.00–$45.00/hr range.

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an engineering and product development team supporting the design, development, and release of new products. This role contributes throughout the product lifecycle, from concept development through production release, with responsibilities spanning mechanical design, CAD ownership, prototype support, engineering analysis, and documentation management.

The ideal candidate enjoys collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to develop practical, manufacturable product solutions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in product development activities from concept through production release.
• Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and design evaluations.
• Support design reviews and drawing review processes.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, tooling, and operations teams.

• Utilize product data management (PDM) systems to support engineering documentation and release processes.

• Experience supporting prototype development and product validation activities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
