Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in the United States to join their team. You will conceptualize, design, and refine mechanical systems for new product development and enhancements, working closely with manufacturing and R&D to realize concepts and solve complex engineering challenges.

You will develop detailed 3D CAD designs, perform analyses, create BOMs, and ensure designs meet manufacturability and regulatory requirements in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of mechanical design experience in product development.
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor) and FEA tools.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, molding, sheet metal).

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs for components and assemblies using 3D CAD software , producing manufacturing-ready drawings and specifications.
• Perform stress analysis , thermal analysis, and other simulations to validate designs and ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation for all designed parts and assemblies.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to resolve design-related production issues and optimize for manufacturability.
• Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring designs meet all functional and regulatory requirements.
• Research and evaluate new materials and technologies for potential integration into future designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in a product development setting.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent, and experience with FEA tools.
