Job summary

X4 Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design containerized Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with a focus on thermal management and robust mechanical integration.

You will work with cross-functional teams through testing and field deployment, applying NFPA 855 knowledge and vendor design reviews to deliver reliable energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing BESS, power electronics, or thermally critical enclosure systems.
• Strong understanding of thermal management and cooling system design.
• Experience supporting products through testing and field deployment.
• Knowledge of NFPA 855 or similar battery storage standards.
• Experience reviewing vendor designs and technical documentation.
