Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop EV battery pack components and systems. You will own mechanical design, create 3D models and 2D drawings in CATIA V6/V5, and collaborate with cross-functional teams from concept through production.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of mechanical design experience, strong knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, and manufacturability. Experience with sheet metal, plastics, and automotive/EV domains is preferred; on-site in Michigan, USA is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for EV battery packs (modules, enclosures, brackets, structural parts).
• Create parametric 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CATIA V6.
• Apply GD&T and ensure drawings meet engineering and manufacturing standards.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities.
• Collaborate with electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and quality teams for system integration.

Job description

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with 2–8 years of experience to support the design and development of EV battery pack components and systems. The role involves mechanical design ownership, CAD modeling using CATIA V6 / CATIA V5, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support products from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for EV battery packs (modules, enclosures, brackets, structural parts)
• Create parametric 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CATIA V6
• Apply GD&T and ensure drawings meet engineering and manufacturing standards
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities
• Work with electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and quality teams for system integration
• Good knowledge about GD&T, Tolerance stackup & DFMEA.
• Ensure designs meet DFM/DFA and manufacturability requirements
• Support design changes, documentation, and BOM maintenance
• Participate in design reviews and implement improvements based on feedback

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical /Automotive Engineering
• 2+years of experience in mechanical design
• Strong hands-on experience with CATIA V6 / CATIA V5
• Experience in EV / Battery / Automotive domain
• Good knowledge of sheet metal, plastics, machined parts, and cast components
• Understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings

• Exposure to EV battery pack or energy storage systems
