Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 2–4 years of experience to assist in the design and development of EV battery pack components and systems. You will model components and assemblies in CATIA V6 and work under senior engineers from concept through production.

You will apply GD&T, support prototypes and testing, coordinate with electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and quality teams, and help ensure designs meet DFM/DFA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Working experience with CATIA V6.
• Exposure to EV, battery, or automotive design environments.
• Familiarity with sheet metal, plastics, machined parts, or cast components.
• Basic understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of mechanical components and assemblies for EV battery packs (modules, enclosures, brackets, structural parts).
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CATIA V6 under engineering direction.
• Apply GD&T fundamentals to ensure drawings meet established engineering and manufacturing standards.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities as assigned.
• Coordinate with electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and quality teams to support system integration.
• Working familiarity with GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and DFMEA concepts.
• Help ensure designs align with DFM/DFA guidelines.
• Support design change documentation and BOM maintenance.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from senior team members.

• The role involves supporting mechanical design activities, CAD modeling using CATIA V6, and collaborating with cross-functional teams under the guidance of senior engineers from concept through production.

Responsibilities:
