Job summary

International Cooling Tower, Inc. seeks a qualified engineer to join our team and advance boiler system design. You will verify customer specs, apply ASME codes, and perform calculations for tubes, piping, and drums throughout the project lifecycle.

You will use AutoCAD to create top-level design documents and engage in weight/CG calculations, shipping sketches, and integration of ancillary equipment. Collaboration with fabrication and field teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in related engineering preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 1–3 years of related experience required; 5+ years preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to perform essential job functions.
• Active role in internal and external meetings.
• General understanding of boiler system design and drafting requirements.
• Working knowledge of industrial steel equipment fabrication and industrial pressure part welding.
• Ability to acquire working knowledge of ASME Section I & VIII codes.
• Advanced CAD (2D/3D) skills and ability.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.

Responsibilities

Description

Responsibilities:

• Work with a project team to review customer specifications, define project requirements and collaborate with the team to enable efficient, effective, and successful project execution.
• Apply ASME Section I & VIII Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code requirements consistent with the project design.
• Perform Code Calculations to validate the boiler tube, piping, and drum designs as well as welded joint configurations.
• Utilize AutoCAD 2D and 3D CAD software as necessary to generate top level boiler design documents consisting of models and arrangements with section views required for customer submittal and downstream detailed engineering/project execution.
• Calculate equipment weight and center of gravity and prepare shipping sketch.
• Support the preparation of Specifications for the integration of ancillary equipment (i.e., fans, duct burners, catalyst, heat exchangers, pumps) into the overall design.
• Provide design support throughout equipment fabrication and jobsite installation.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of project schedules.

Qualifications (Education and Experience):

• Four-year degree in related Engineering discipline preferred. An equivalent combination of professional experience and education will be considered.
• 1-3 years of previous related experience required; five plus years of previous related experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to perform essential job functions.
• Perform active role in internal and external (i.e., customer) meetings.
• General understanding of boiler system design and drafting requirements.
• Working knowledge of industrial steel equipment fabrication and industrial pressure part welding.
• Ability to acquire a working knowledge of the ASME Section I & VIII Pressure Vessel Codes.
• Advanced CAD (2D and/or 3D) skills and ability.
• Ability to effectively use typical technical software as necessary to execute non-CAD design and office functions. Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
