Job summary

Luxshare-Tech is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead structural design and development of interconnect products through prototyping to mass production. The role emphasizes patent research, cross-functional collaboration, and contribution to knowledge sharing and mentorship.

Responsibilities include designing product structures, creating DFMEA and tolerances, and releasing engineering docs, while supporting marketing and customer issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Materials Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience; senior level 8+ years preferred.
  • Experience with patent applications and patent research.
  • Strong knowledge of plastics, metals, and connector manufacturing/assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical reviews of product development and coordinate resolution of design issues.
  • Prepare and release engineering docs: 2D drawings, specs, DFMEA, tolerance analyses, packaging guidelines.
  • Manage prototyping, transfer to mass production, and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Write product design guidelines, technical case studies, and document lessons learned.
  • Mentor and train new employees while leading technical projects.
  • Support product marketing activities, handle customer technical complaints, and prepare application docs for market promotion.

Position Overview

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the structural design and development of interconnect products, ensuring product performance, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards. This role involves patent research, technical problem-solving, product validation, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the product lifecycle, from prototyping to mass production. The engineer will also contribute to knowledge sharing, employee mentorship, and technical support for product promotion and customer issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop product structures based on specifications, including conducting patent research and supporting product design patent applications.

  • Lead technical reviews of product development and coordinate the resolution of design-related issues.
  • Prepare and release engineering documents such as 2D drawings, product specifications, DFMEA, tolerance analyses, and packaging guidelines.
  • Manage product prototyping, transfer to mass production, and troubleshoot production anomalies.
  • Write product design guidelines, prepare technical case studies, and document lessons learned.
  • Mentor and train new employees while leading assigned technical projects.
  • Support product marketing activities, handle customer technical complaints, and prepare application documents for market promotion.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience (8+ years preferred for senior-level candidates).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear logical thinking and proactive initiative.
  • Proficiency in the connector product development and validation process, including the ability to produce engineering documents such as tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and packaging specifications.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering plastics, metals, and connector manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Skilled in 2D/3D CAD design software; familiar with stress simulation and mold flow analysis.
  • Strong ability to summarize and document design guidelines and technical standards.
  • Professional knowledge with proven experience in patent applications.
  • Good English reading and writing skills for technical documentation and communication.
