Job summary

Edison Smart is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own rugged defence hardware from concept through testing and deployment, based in Livermore, CA, onsite.

You will perform SolidWorks CAD work, run FEA, support prototype builds, and collaborate with electrical, manufacturing and systems teams to ensure hardware withstands harsh environments.

Candidates should have broad mechanical engineering experience and be eligible for security clearance.

Qualifications

I'm working with an innovative engineering organisation developing next-generation rugged hardware for demanding defence applications. They're looking for a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of products from concept through to testing and real-world deployment.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll work across the full product lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver hardware capable of operating in harsh environments.

What you'll be doing:

• Mechanical design of rugged hardware for defence applications
• Performing your own FEA analysis
• Supporting prototype builds and testing
• Iterating designs based on test results
• Working closely with electrical, manufacturing and systems engineering teams

What we're looking for:

• Experience designing rugged mechanical hardware
