  • 3+ years 2D/3D solid modeling experience, preferably SolidWorks.
  • 3+ years hydraulic design/operations experience.
  • 2+ years FEA experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in metal fabrication and hands-on work.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 2D/3D designs, models, drawings, and specifications using CAD software.
  • Design products involving steel and other metals, fabrication, mechanical assemblies, automotive/truck equipment, and industrial machinery.
  • Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, PTO, and related mechanical systems.
  • Participate in hands-on testing, troubleshooting, validation, and product improvement — approximately 80% CAD / 20% shop work.
  • Apply FEA and engineering principles to develop safe, effective, manufacturable designs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, and other teams while managing multiple projects.
  • Develop proficiency in product costs/specifications and support the quote-to-build process.
  • Take projects from concept through release while meeting customer, regulatory, safety, and production requirements.

A rapidly growing manufacturing company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its team in Gulfport, MS. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically strong, hands-on engineer who enjoys taking projects from concept through CAD, testing, release, and production support.

  • Creative, resourceful problem solver with a self-starter mentality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
