Job summary

Axelon Services Corporation in Greenville, SC seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to modify components and provide manufacturing support. The role involves design of hardware, CAD/modeling, and PLM BoMs, plus collaboration with multiple engineering and sourcing teams to optimize cost and manufacturability.

Responsibilities include reviewing supplier quotes, supporting procurement, and ensuring changes are properly implemented from SDRs through final assembly and fleet launch.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in NX (Mechanical and Routing), PMI/Drafting, PLM, drafting standards and GD&T basics.
• Experience with Ansys Classic.

• Support hardware procurement, manufacturing, and assembly.
• Collaborate with PDE drafting, sourcing, AME manufacturing, aero engineers, heat transfer, MPE materials, repair engineering, and VE teams.
• Interface with suppliers to review cost reduction ideas and manufacturability limits.
• Provide shop support/interface for dispositioning non-conformances and process supplier qualifications.
• Review SDRs and follow modified parts into final assembly and fleet launch.

Mechanical Design Engineer role focused on component modification and manufacturing support.

Pay Rate: $53.94 per hour

Location: Greenville, SC

Duration: 12 Months

Responsibilities

• Design component modifications, including reviewing supplier quotes and developing cost models.
• Mechanical design of hardware, model/drawing definition, and creation of PLM BoMs and change instructions.
• Support hardware procurement, manufacturing, and assembly.
• Collaborate with PDE drafting, sourcing, AME manufacturing, aero engineers, heat transfer, MPE materials, repair engineering, and value engineering teams.
• Interface with company suppliers to review cost reduction ideas and manufacturability limits.
• Provide shop support/interface for dispositioning non-conformances and process supplier qualifications.
• Review SDRs and follow modified parts into final assembly and fleet launch.

Requirements

• Proficiency in NX (modeling: Mechanical and Routing module), PMI/Drafting, PLM, Drafting standards, GD&T, and fundamental stack-ups.
• Experience with Ansys Classic.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with the design, analysis, and manufacturing of gas turbine combustion components.
• Knowledge of company design practices, lifing methods, and tools.
