Job summary

ACE Partners in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks two Mechanical Design Engineers with 3+ years of experience to join our engineering team. You will design mechanical components and systems, produce 3D models and drawings, and ensure designs meet performance, cost, and schedule targets.

You will work with manufacturing and suppliers, apply hydraulics/pneumatics where needed, and contribute to design reviews and continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years' experience in machine design.
• 3 years' professional experience using SolidWorks.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a practical understanding of machine design and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to apply mechanical engineering standards, principles, and techniques to practical design challenges.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing methods.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and/or pneumatics.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Limited travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, machinery, and systems per project requirements.
• Produce detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using SolidWorks.
• Manage design activities to meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule targets.
• Apply engineering standards, principles, specifications, and techniques.
• Select materials, components, and manufacturing processes for designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams for feasible designs.
• Support development, testing, modification, and continuous improvement of products.
• Identify and resolve mechanical design, manufacturing, and technical issues.
• Incorporate hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems into designs where required.
• Prepare and maintain accurate drawings, specifications, BOMs, and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Support design reviews and engineering change processes.
• Ensure designs comply with engineering, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage priorities to meet project deadlines.
• Undertake limited travel as required.

The business is growing rapidly, and I am currently seeking two Mechanical Design Engineers with 3+ years’ experience in mechanical design to join the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, machinery, and systems in line with project requirements.
• Produce detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using SolidWorks.
• Manage design activities to ensure projects meet required performance, quality, cost, and schedule targets.

• Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and suitable for manufacture.
• Support the development, testing, modification, and continuous improvement of new and existing products.
• Identify and resolve mechanical design, manufacturing, and technical issues.
• Incorporate hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems into machine and equipment designs where required.
• Prepare and maintain accurate engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other technical documentation.
