Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the design and manufacturing of space products at our Goleta offices. The role requires full product lifecycle experience and leadership of technical teams to drive design reviews, develop system-level requirements, and verify through testing.

The ideal candidate will work with spaceflight programs and apply aerospace standards while collaborating with program management to align with customer expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in full product lifecycle development.
  • Systems-level engineering experience and leadership of technical teams.
  • Experience with PDM Pro, SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, Thermal Desktop, NASTRAN, or ANSYS.
  • Familiarity with GSFC-STD-7000A (GEVS), AIAA S-114-2005, NASA-STD-5017, MMPDS.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and team-oriented work style.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design reviews and develop or review verification plans, validation procedures, and customer acceptance test procedures.
  • Develop system-level requirements, verification procedures, and compliance documentation for spacecraft.
  • Ensure requirements traceability and verification through successful test execution.
  • Participate in or lead non-conformance investigations.
  • Partner with program management to ensure project execution aligns with customer expectations and internal guidelines.
  • Control project costs through effective resource planning and close management of system-level decisions.
  • Lead and manage technical teams, ensuring successful delivery of projects.

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in full product lifecycle development.
  • Proven systems-level engineering experience and prior leadership of technical teams.
  • Experience with PDM Pro, SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, Thermal Desktop, NASTRAN, or ANSYS.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards such as GSFC-STD-7000A (GEVS), AIAA S-114-2005, NASA-STD-5017, MMPDS, and similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
