Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex mechanical and electro-mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.

• Perform thermal, structural, stress, vibration, and tolerance analyses.
• Design and support vacuum systems and high-voltage assemblies.
• Lead design reviews and prepare technical reports and specs.
• Conduct RCCA and other engineering risk assessments.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure GD&T compliance and industry drafting standards.

Duration: 24 months contract on W2 with possible extensions

Pay Rate: $95-97/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and support complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for advanced manufacturing equipment. This role is responsible for leading mechanical design activities from concept through production, performing engineering analyses, supporting product validation, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, manufacturable solutions.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in precision mechanical design, vacuum systems, high‑voltage mechanical assemblies, and product development within a high‑technology or semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex mechanical and electro‑mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
• Own mechanical designs throughout the product development lifecycle, including concept, design, prototyping, testing, validation, and production release.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and product documentation.
• Perform engineering analyses including thermal, heat transfer, structural, stress, vibration, and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Design and support vacuum systems and high‑voltage mechanical assemblies.
• Conduct feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, and validation testing.
• Lead design reviews and prepare technical documentation, specifications, and engineering reports.
• Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other engineering risk assessments.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure robust, manufacturable, and cost‑effective designs.
• Ensure engineering documentation complies with GD&T and industry drafting standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on engineering projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of mechanical design and product development experience.
• Strong experience designing vacuum systems and high‑voltage mechanical devices or assemblies.
• Advanced proficiency with Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD software.
• Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience releasing mechanical parts and assemblies into production.
• Hands‑on experience performing tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Experience conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and engineering risk assessments.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer, structural mechanics, and mechanical system design.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the semiconductor or capital equipment industry.
• Knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience leading product development projects and mentoring engineering teams.
• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
