Job Description:
The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design and development of mechanical systems and components, contributing to the creation of cutting-edge solutions.
- Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD software and engineering principles
- Create detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly
- Conduct analysis and testing of designs to ensure performance, reliability, and safety
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with other systems and components
- Participate in prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs
- Evaluate and select materials, components, and suppliers for mechanical systems
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards for mechanical engineering
- Support manufacturing and production teams with technical guidance and troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate records of design iterations, test results, and project documentation
Education/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in a related industry
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools for mechanical designs
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) License obtained by accredited examination
- 5-6 years of related work experience: of which 2 years’ experience is in a nuclear facility
