Responsibilities

• Collaborates with engineers, PMs, and operators to optimize fabrication.
• Researches equipment feasibility and recommends tooling and fixtures.

SUMMARYUnder immediate supervision, performs routine computer-aided drafting, technical support functions and develops basic fabrication concepts while conforming to the company’s quality systems as documented.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Researches and retrieves information for department membersKeeps abreast of current design practices and proceduresPerforms shop and field data collectionInterfaces with Design Engineers and project managers to maintain current and best programming/machining practicesParticipates in project reviews to obtain special manufacturing requirementsUpdates, revises and produces programs, tool lists and job set-up sheets for machine shop.Work closely with machine operators, fabrication personnel, project managers and other machine programmers to ensure that programs are made to run as smooth and efficiently as possible.Researches the feasibility and capability of various projectsProvides technical solutions and recommendations to assist production and assemblyDevelops plans for assembly, machine, tooling and fixture designPrepares mechanical calculations for design requirementsPrepares fluid mechanics and fluid dynamics calculations for design requirementsInterprets customer specification, codes and calculationsProduces detailed drawing per company standardsUpdates, devises and reproduces drawingsProduces detailed technical submittal documents in support of assigned projectsInterfaces with production to maintain current and best fabrication practicesResearches, specifies, recommends and commissions manufacturing equipmentQUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. One must possess strong computer knowledge and be familiar with standard desktop software in addition to PRO/E, AutoCad or other drafting/modeling software.
