Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with EIT/PE credentials for a hybrid role in Arlington, VA. The position focuses on HVAC systems design for commercial, institutional, and mission-critical facilities, requiring 3-5+ years of experience and strong cross-discipline coordination.

You will contribute to design development, energy modeling, and construction documentation while collaborating with senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or higher).
• 4-7 years of experience in the MEP industry.
• EIT certification required; PE license is a plus (or actively pursuing licensure).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience coordinating across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the mechanical design process for new construction and renovation projects, with exposure to mission-critical facilities.
• Assist with conceptual designs, equipment selection, construction drawings, specifications, and energy modeling.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure code compliance, coordination, and constructability.
• Support construction administration tasks, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and site visits.
• Help track project quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Engage with clients to understand design needs and contribute to solution development.
• Continue building technical and project management skills while working closely with senior engineers.

Mechanical Design Engineer EIT/PE (Hybrid) We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 3-5+ years of experience in the HVAC Systems Design. Successful candidate will possess experience in Commercial, Institutional, and Mission Critical Facilities, national codes, standards, and regulations.
