Job summary

nVent’s Mechanical Engineering and Design Co‑Op offers hands-on projects in the Enclosures segment, with formal training and leadership opportunities as you develop engineering skills. You'll contribute to design work and learn about documentation, BOMs, and product development in a global company.

As a pursuing Mechanical Engineering degree (Juniors/Seniors preferred, grads 2028–2029), you’ll gain experience with 3D CAD, SolidWorks, and real-world applications while enjoying relocation/housing

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Juniors and Seniors preferred (Grads May 2028–June 2029).
• 3D software modeling experience.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare product layouts with direction from engineering
• Design components and assemblies using 3D CAD system
• Adhere to engineering drafting and release standards
• Participate in the product development process, including design brainstorming and voice of customer activity
• Process Change Action documentation, including the development of bills of material
• Perform research and investigation to obtain missing information and to ensure all specifications are correctly presented on documentation
• Use FEA (finite element analysis) tools to analyze parts and assemblies in static and dynamic environments
• Research and present on a variety of current and next generation technologies
• Perform required calculations to ensure all dimensions, tolerances and other specifications are correct as represented on documentation
