Job summary

Foundation EGI, an MIT-born venture-backed Silicon Valley startup, seeks an Individual Contributor for the Data Studio team to transform raw customer data into structured, high-fidelity datasets for AI model training and delivery.

You will design CAD ground truths, create labeled datasets, and collaborate across product, research, and engineering to ensure data quality and scalable pipelines.

Qualifications

• Strong domain expertise in mechanical engineering, manufacturing design, or industrial workflows.
• Hands-on CAD experience with SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or Creo.
• Familiar with annotation tools and illustration software such as Creo Illustrate, Adobe Illustrator, Arbortext.
• Ability to interpret complex mechanical assemblies, drawings, GD&T, and engineering docs.
• Experience creating exploded views, work-step sequences, repair manuals, or manufacturing instructions.
• Excellent problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Ingest, clean, transform, and structure engineering data for AI training and inference.
• Design high-quality mechanical components and assemblies in CAD as ground truth.
• Produce labeled datasets, reference designs, annotations, exploded views, sequences.
• Apply engineering judgment to define output quality and metadata standards.
• Collaborate with PMs to shape tooling for annotation and data pipelines.
• Provide feedback on tool usability and automation opportunities.
• Ensure scalable, repeatable data processes for throughput and consistency.
• Partner with engineering/research to define data requirements and failure modes.
• Supply engineering examples and ground-truth designs to influence model behavior.
• Translate domain requirements into actionable dataset specifications.
• Create technical docs, exploded views, sequences encoding engineering reasoning.
• Ensure datasets reflect DFM, material behavior, and industry best practices.
• Embed engineering reasoning into training data.
• Work with customers to understand data sources, schemas, formats, and quality expectations.
• Guide customers in preparing structured schemas and improving pipelines.
• Communicate progress and surface risks; review external contractors per SOPs.
